Isabella Facchina, a junior on the Greencastle-Antrim Hih School field hockey team, had a strong week for the Blue Devils. Facchina scored two goals and added an assist in G-A's 4-1 win over Chambersburg before scoring a goal in a close game with Boiling Springs.
Weber Long, a freshmen on the Greencastle-Antrim High School boys' cross country team, won the boys' race in last week's dual meet against Shippensburg. Long finished more than a full minute ahead of the field, posting a winning time of 17:12 to lead G-A to a team victory. Long then placed fourth in Saturday's Big Spring Invitational.
Jason Freeman, a senior on the Greencastle-Antrim High School boys’ soccer team, was a key player in both of G-A’s victories last week. Freeman scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Cedar Cliff and registered a goal and a assist in G-A’s 5-1 win over James Buchanan.
Amanda Steier, a senior on the Greencastle-Antrim High School golf team, shot a career-best round at Range End during a Mid-Penn Colonial Division match last week. Steier posted 76 to finish fourth overall.
Max McDowell, a senior on the Greencastle-
Antrim High School football team, scored all
22 of G-A’s points in last Friday’s homecoming
game against Big Spring. As the quarterback,
McDowell ran for touchdowns of 11, 7 and 4
yards, respectively. He also converted a pair of
Avery Parks, a freshman on the Greencastle-
Antrim High School girls’ soccer team,
had a strong week for the Blue Devils. Parks
scored four total goals, helping G-A to a pair of
victories. She scored twice in a 7-0 win over Big
Spring before adding two more goals in a 3-2
victory against Shippensburg.
Taylor Noblit, a senior on the Greencastle-
Antrim High School boys’ soccer team, had
a strong week for the Blue Devils. Noblit scored
three goals during G-A’s 6-1 victory over James
Buchanan on Saturday. He also added one assist
earlier in the week against Boiling Springs.
Bailey Wilson, a senior on the Greencastle-Antrim
High School volleyball team, continues to be a
staple at setter for the Blue Devils. Wilson distributed
at least 20 assists in all five of G-A’s matches last
week, highlighted by a 31-assist performance Saturday
against West Perry. Also on Saturday, Wilson
finished with 27 assists and eight digs in a sweep of
Gettysburg while registering 28 assists and 10 digs
earlier in the week against Waynesboro.

Antwoine Carter, a senior on the Greencastle-Antrim High School football team, was a key contributor in the Blue Devils’ 42-7 victory over Camp Hill on Friday. Carter finished with two interceptions while limiting Camp Hill’s top receiver to minimal production. Carter also returned an interception to the 2-yard line, setting up a touchdown.

Baylee Schaeffer, a junior on the Greencastle-Antrim High School girls’ volleyball team, had a strong opening match last Friday against Southern Fulton. Schaeffer registered a team-high 11 kills for the Blue Devils, who swept Southern Fulton in straight sets.

Rachel Verhoef, a senior on the Greencastle-Antrim High School girls’ volleyball team, capped a tremendous week with 18 kills, seven digs and six aces against Northern York on Saturday. Also on Saturday, Verhoef registered eight kills and eight aces in a win over Big Spring. Earlier in the week, she connected on 10 kills against Shippensburg while recording eight kills and seven blocks in a sweep of Mechanicsburg.
Vincent Castillo, a junior on the Greencastle-Antrim High School boys’ soccer team, scored six goals and added two assists as G-A went 3-0 last week. Castillo opened the week with a hat trick against Northern York before netting the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Boiling Springs. He then recorded two goals and an assist in Saturday’s win against Big Spring.
